Your Adventure Department (YAD)

1. Definitions

  1. YAD: The adventure guiding provider offering adventure activities.
  2. Participant: Any individual who registers for and/or takes part in an activity offered by YAD.
  3. Activity: The adventure in Norway organized by YAD.

2. Safety and Participant Responsibility

  1. Adventure activities inherently involve risks. By registering, the Participant acknowledges and accepts these risks. Participants are required to sign a liability waiver before participating in activities.
  2. Participants must complete all medical or health questionnaires truthfully and disclose all relevant physical or mental conditions that may affect participation.
  3. YAD reserves the right to refuse or terminate participation if undisclosed medical conditions or safety concerns arise.
  4. Participants must follow all instructions issued by YAD staff. The Participant is liable for any damage or injury resulting from non-compliance.
  5. Participants are responsible for obtaining adequate travel, medical, accident, and cancellation insurance.
  6. YAD reserves the right to adjust routes and schedules due to the weather and/or safety reasons.

3. Registration and Payment

  1. Registration is only confirmed once YAD has received a 30% deposit of the total activity fee.
  2. The remaining 70% must be paid no later than 3 months before the planned date of the adventure.
  3. If the remaining balance is not paid by the deadline, then YAD reserves the right to cancel the activity.

4. Deposit Policy

  1. All deposits are strictly non-refundable, regardless of the reason for cancellation.
  2. Exceptions can only be made with prior written approval from YAD.
  3. Deposits may not be transferred to another participant, activity, or date unless explicitly approved in writing by YAD.

5. Cancellation by the Participant

  1. All cancellations must be submitted in writing (email is accepted).
  2. If a Participant cancels:
    1. The 30% deposit is always non-refundable.
    2. Any remaining balance already paid will be refunded according to YAD’s refund schedule.
  1. Failure to appear on the activity start date (“no-show”) results in 100% forfeiture of all payments.

6. Cancellation or Modification by YAD

  1. YAD may cancel or reschedule an activity due to force majeure, unsafe conditions, or insufficient participant numbers. YAD reserves the right to adjust routes and schedules due to the weather and/or safety reasons.
  2. In such cases, Participants may choose between:
    1. A full refund of all amounts paid (including deposit), or
    2. Transfer to another available date or activity.
  1. YAD is not liable for any additional costs incurred by the Participant (e.g., travel, lodging, equipment, insurance).

7. Liability

  1. YAD is not liable for loss of or damage to personal belongings, equipment, documents, or valuables brought by the Participant.
  2. Participation is entirely at the Participant’s own risk.
  3. YAD is not responsible for injuries, accidents, or damages unless caused directly by YAD’s proven negligence.
  4. Participants are required to sign a liability waiver before participating in activities.

8. Participant Conduct

  1. YAD reserves the right to remove any Participant whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, or violates instructions.
  2. The Participant is obliged to follow YAD's instructions.
  3. Usage of drugs and alcohol during activities is forbidden.
  4. Removal due to misconduct does not entitle the Participant to any refund.

9. Governing Law

Business-related matters of these Terms & Conditions, including bookings, liability, payments, and contractual obligations, are governed by Dutch law.
All matters relating to outdoor activities and nature use in Norway are governed by Norwegian law, including the Norwegian Outdoor Recreation Act (Friluftsloven) and the public right of way (allemannsretten). Participants are required to follow these rules during all guided activities.

10. Changes to these Terms & Conditions

We reserve the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. The changes will take effect as soon as the updated policy is posted on our website. We recommend checking these Terms & Conditions regularly.
